First Key Leaders’ Conference
BAGUIO CITY – Nearly all the EXECLUB leaders, and business center owners trekked to the pine city when temperatures plummeted to a cool 15 degrees on December 26 – 29 for Trigo World’s first Annual Review and Planning Conference of leaders. Venue for the conference was the Mirador Jesuit Villa (popularly known as Groto), appropriately chosen for its strategic location on top of a hill, from which the leaders had a panoramic view of the vibrant city on one side, and the mountain ranges that gradually slope down to the shimmering and distant China Sea on the other.
As if guided into a temporary solitude that provoked reflection the leaders easily glided into a clear overview of the year that was about to end, and visualized the coming year with pleasant anticipation. Fraternal bonds started to form among the leaders as they became aware of its need to promote team work leading to excellent performance. Their two and a half day experience was short but complete in learning the importance of body-mind-soul connection in one’s active and purposeful life. Early morning physical exercises and evening fellowship book-marked daily sessions. Films were delicately used to drive home key insights of the 10 secrets to success. Finally, on the last day, everyone got a chance to tour the city on a vegetable and souvenir shopping spree, including a tsokolate- at-bibingka afternoon treat to the fabulous John Hay Manor garden. By sun down one could have surveyed a unanimous sentiment among them which agreed with Wordsworth’s immortal lines: “The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have miles and miles to go before I sleep…” Indeed, Baguio still beckoned and begged, but everyone so eagerly wanted to start the year already armed with clear goals and renewed vigor and commitment. That’s Power!
